Short version: your data stays on your machine. Only the strings you ask the AI to translate ever leave it.
What stays on your machine
All Salesforce metadata, all translations, all workspace state, and all credentials are stored locally in an encrypted database on your computer. Refresh tokens are encrypted with AES-256 and never leave the machine they were issued on. Access tokens live in memory only.
What leaves your machine
Two things, both at your explicit request:
- · Translation API calls. When you click "AI translate", the source string is sent to the AI engine you selected (via the TranSFlator backend). Only the strings — never the surrounding metadata, your org URL, or any user data.
- · Salesforce API calls. Standard OAuth and Metadata API traffic to your own org. TranSFlator is the client — there is no intermediary server.
What we collect
The desktop app does not include analytics or telemetry. The TranSFlator account portal collects standard account information (email, AI engine preference, credit balance) needed to bill for AI usage.
